Comprehensive Teacher Training
1. History, Anatomy Fundamentals, Principles and Special Population.
This module explains a brief history of Joseph Pilates and how the method started and developed. You will immerse into the foundational Pilates Method and Pilates Gaia Movement Principles, as well as a better understanding of human anatomy with a friendly view on the musculoskeletal system, major muscle groups, joints, movement patterns and common pathologies.
2. Mat Pilates
Begin your journey learning the basic fundamentals of the Method through the Mat repertoire, integrating and applying what you learnt in Module 1. You will be able to experience in your own body the movement patterns and modifications of smart and conscious movements that characterized Controllogy. At this part in the program you will start learning how to teach and cue your clients in a proper and positive way.
3. Pilates Reformer & Introduction to Meditation
Through this module you will be introduced to the most recognized Pilates apparatus, the Universal Reformer. It will be a deep dive into resistance training, learning to set up the equipment, perform and teach some of the Mat exercises on a movable platform together with new exercises that were adapted to what we know today as Reformer. In addition, you will learn how to design an exercise program based on your client needs and goals along with an introduction to Meditation.
4. Trapeze Table, aka Cadillac
Immerse yourself into the diverse Trapeze Table world. Which provides a wide range of exercises, carefully designed to offer a comprehensive workout, focusing on strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and rehabilitation while also encouraging a strong mind-body connection. Become confident in maximizing the potential of variations and modifications that this apparatus provides to address a wide universe of clients, delivering assistance for beginners and adding challenge to advanced practitioners.
5. Wunda Chair & Reiki at level I Initiation
Develop and master your knowledge in a compact yet powerful Pilates equipment used for a variety of exercises, including seated, standing, and lying down positions, offering a broad range of workout options. Learn how the split pedal design on some models allows targeted work on weaker or injured sides of the body. This module includes a Reiki, a japanese form of energy healing, initiation and attunements.
6. Ladder & Barrel, Spine Corrector, Magic Circle
In the last module, dive into the world of the spinal extension promoted by the Ladder & Barrel and Spine Corrector. Further develop your Pilates knowledge and teaching skills by incorporating the Magic Circle, a popular Pilates equipment that adds resistance and tension to exercises, enhancing muscle engagement and alignment.
Program Structure
Our 515 hours Teacher Training Program is divided as follow:
115 Lecture Hours
and performing mid-term and final exams.
100 Observation Hours
150 Self-Practice Hours
150 Teaching-Practice Hours
All hours must be logged and signed by a qualified Pilates teacher (NCPT suggested) in the log book This is a requisite to be eligible to take the final exam.
